Albatros landing gear

Correcting the 1/48th Eduard Albatros Landing Gear
Seems they took the landing gear right off the profile drawing without accounting for the extra length required to splay the legs out the width of the spreader bar and axle.
Cut the cuffed ends off straight and true. Attach a piece of strut material and sand to a smooth join.
Match both legs exactly before trimming to length.
Smooth the joint and paint. They will be a tad wider at the ends. As flexible as these parts are, you should have no trouble pinching them the small fraction of an inch needed for the pins to match the holes. If this proves unsatisfactory to your tastes, then notch the vee and force the legs to the correct angle and reinforce the notch with CA, There you have it. If youre worried about strength, use a brass pin through the extension piece.
