Albatros D.V
Airfix 1/72

By: Alberto Casirati

Here are some pictures of my 1/72nd Albatros D.V model. It was based on the old Airfix kit. One of my favourite ways to enjoy WW1 modelling is to rework classic kits.

Scratchbuilt details included fuselage interiors, headrest, lower wing roots, ventral fin, tailskid, inspection panels, engine, spinner, wing radiator, struts and ribbing. Wings and tailplanes contours were modified. Airscrew, wheels, exhausts and the front part of the guns came from the Aeroclub catalogue. Rigging is, as usual, in 0.065 mm stainless steel wire. The model depicts one of Eduard Ritter von Schleich's machines.
