Vzfw. Jacobsen's Albatros DIII 2090/16 with Jasta 31 markings.
Model is Eduard's early (centered radiator) D.III. Dabbling on fuselage according to Dan-San Abbott were trumpet shaped flowers petals with dark stamens and surrounding leaves. Aircraft appeared in this scheme on Guesnain Airfield between June 23 and July 12, 1917. Building and painting comments; Rub-n-Buff silver on ammo boxes. RAF Middlestone brown for airscrew and interior, wood graining applied with .005 Micron brown pen on bulkhead and floor. Darker wood on the airscrew was done with wood decals. Polyscale Dark olive, British Interior Green and a home mix for the red-brown using model RR paint. Undersides are Polyscale Russian light blue with white added. Rigging done with .005 fishing line. .080 drill bit used through tops of struts after the struts are glued in place. A knot tied and small drop of acc applied to each. Front bulkhead bracing cut out. Used kit's national markings with Humbol white used for flowers (painted with 0/0 brush) with Humbol dark blue painted in the centers. Fuselage band is white paint with black diamonds cut from decal and positioned in place. Polyscale dark olive used for the leaves. Base fuselage painted Brunswick green (light green as used on the top of the wings). Photo reference Osprey Albatros Aces book page 59.
